Join us for the Orlando Red Carpet Premiere of 'Islamic Art: Mirror of the Invisible World', a UPF and Gardner Films production. Narrated by Academy Award winner Susan Sarandon, the movie explores themes such as the Word, Space, Ornament, Color, and Water, taking audiences on a global journey to present the stories behind the masterworks of Islamic Art and Architecture. Although Islamic art differs from Western art in some respects, it carries with it, like all art, the fundamental values and perspectives of the artists who created it. It incorporates the basic human themes of transcendent beauty, common to all creative endeavors. The 90-minute documentary takes viewers to nine countries and across 1,800 years of cultural history to explore the astonishing riches of Islamic art and architecture. Islamic Art was developed and filmed over two years, including extraordinary high-definition footage taken in Egypt, Israel, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Iran, Spain, Mali and India, as well as a wide array of historical recreations that look and feel authenticThe Orlando Premiere will be held at the prestigious Orlando Museum of Art (OMA), with a reception prior to the movie premiere. Doors open at 6pm. This is a private event and not sponsored by the Orlando Museum of Art.Professional attire recommended.
