Description: Type 1 is a student organization, supported by health professionals at UCF, that helps educate, advocate, and manage Type 1 diabetes. In our meetings we talk about things such as how to tell your roommate about your diabetes, dating with diabetes, as well as give you the first look at new insulin pumps and products for managing your diabetes. We are also advocates for diabetes research through participation in fundraising events, education on campus, etc. Thursday, Aug. 30, will be our first meeting. Other tentative dates include: Sept. 27, Oct. 25, & Nov. 29. All meetings are in the Marketplace (free meal provided for diabetics) and generally last from 6 pm – 9 pm. We may change these dates in order to allow those with commitments on Thursday nights to attend. Check our schedule online for any updates.
