Description: The Great Debaters will give UCF students the opportunity to debate pertinent topics and controversial issues facing American society today. There will be two teams of three individuals. In honor of black history month, this event will allow two teams of three individuals to research controversial topics in order to defend their position. Participants will not be able pick whether they support or oppose the topics given to them. The audience will also have the opportunity to directly question the participants for a brief time. Three rounds of captivating speeches sprinkled with information you have never encountered! If you are a critical thinker, then this is an event you will not want to miss. If a student wishes to participate they must drop off a resume to the MSC office, located in the Student Union rm 153, by Wednesday, Jan. 23rd. Participants will be notified if chosen. Prizes in the form of gift cards will be awarded to all participants. All UCF students, faculty, and staff are welcome to attend this event. This event is free of charge.
