A group of 26 African Americans found success as artists in the segregated south of the 1950s. Meet the artists, hear their stories, and purchase their uniquely Florida paintings during the History Center’s Highwaymen Weekend. Artists available 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday’s artists will include Mary Ann Carrol, Roy Mclendon, and Robert Lewis Jr. Sunday’s artists will include James Gibson, Al Black, and Isaac Knight. Museum open Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Sunday noon-5 p.m. Tickets must be purchased in advance by calling (407) 836-7010. Special two-day Highwaymen Weekend admission ticket: $15 for adults; $12 for seniors (60+), students and military with I.D.
