On July 27th, last year, we lost a very important member of our family, our beloved golden retriever Brandon. As anyone who considers a dog a companion knows, the intense pain that accompanies this loss is unbearable. Unfortunately as most dog owners often do, we grieved alone, as there was no organized support for pet-parents in our community, until now...Come join us at dusk this July 27th, at Baldwin Park's Harbor Park as we hold a collective memorial service to honor our furry friends. Music, guest speakers and a picnic-style dinner, will be followed by a procession of candle holders ending at Fleet Peeples Park and concluding with the launching of the floating lanterns onto Lake Baldwin. Before being launched, these special lanterns would have been inscribed with personal messages from pet-parents, family, and friends, to their furry companions. This is an event you won't want to miss. We'll see you there!Sincerely, Brandon’s loving family* A portion of the proceeds will benefit Friends of Fleet Peeples Park. There is no admission fee. However, if you are planning to dedicate a lantern, you must reserve it online before July 8th, otherwise, we cannot guarantee there will be a lantern for you. Only a limited amount of lanterns will be available for sale the day of the event.* You are welcome to email a picture of your fur kid to be included in our special slideshow tribute at the event. We need to get all pictures by July 15. Before you send the pics please go to: http://www.floatinglanternmemorials.com/canine-memorial/submit-your-photo/ to check out the rules for submission.
