Alice Cooper Will Be Part Of “Jesus Christ Superstar” On Live TV

Alice Cooper is the son of a Preacher.

He is about to show what that upbringing gave him live on tv.

On Easter Sunday April 1st 2018 NBC will broadcast a live performance of the Andrew Lloyd Webber/Tim Rice musical “Jesus Christ Superstar”.

Alice Cooper has signed on to play the part of King Herod.

This isn’t the first time Cooper has played the role.

He did it back in 1996 in London.

In fact you can hear a performance of Alice as King Herod below.

Don’t be fooled by the fact Easter is also April Fool’s Day for 2018.

This does not seem like any joke in the least.

In fact Alice tweeted about his excitement of being a part of this broadcast.

Excited to join the cast of @NBC’s #JesusChristSuperstar Live as King Herod! Get ready to rock out this Easter Sunday. — Alice Cooper (@alicecooper) December 8, 2017

If “Bohemian Rhapsody” Was A Christmas Song Plus A Bonus Zeppelin XMas Tune

You know when you hear a song that’s so hysterical that you just have to play it for all your friends?

Well that’s about to happen.

Imagine if Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” was a Christmas song.

Play the whole thing and I guarantee you’ll be laughing out loud.

Here are the lyrics to give you an idea:

“Is this the Yuletide? It’s such a mystery Will I be denied Or will there be gifts for me? Come down the stairs Look under the tree and see I’m such a bad boy I get no sympathy ‘Cause I’ve been raising Cain, raising hell Don’t behave very well Waiting for the sleigh bells Christmas really matters to me To me

Santa, been really bad Been writing on the wall Broke a window with my ball Santa, Christmas coming soon But now I’ve gone and thrown my toys away Santa, oooh I wanna see the reindeer fly If you’re not down my chimney by tomorrow Gonna cry, gonna cry ‘Cause Christmas really matters

Too late Yuletide has come Hanging stockings by the fire Singing carols with the choir Goodnight everybody, it’s time for bed Gotta listen for the reindeer on the roof Santa, oooh I just want a toy Sometimes wish I’d never been bad at all

I see a jolly silhouetto of a man Santa Claus, Santa Claus,  Will you come down my chimney? Donner and Blitzen, Cupid and Vixen, please! Pull the sleigh-o, pull the sleigh-o Pull the sleigh-o, pull the sleigh-o Santa, please don’t give him coal (give him coal…)

I’m such a bad boy, nobody loves me He’s such a bad boy, from a bad family Big chunks of coal should go under his tree

Raising Cain, raising hell, please don’t give me coal Kris Kringle! No! Do not give him coal!  (Give him coal…) Kris Kringle! Do not give him coal!  (Give him coal…) Kris Kringle! Do not give him coal! Do not give him coal! Do not give him coal! Never, never give me coal…

No, no, no, no, no, no, no!

C’mon Santa, c’mon Santa Santa please don’t give me coal St. Nicholas has a lump of anthracite for me For me For meeeeee

So you think you can snub me and give me no gifts So you think you can put me on your bad boy list Oh, Santa Can’t do this to me, Santa Just gotta be nice Just gotta be nice for next year

Christmas really matters Anyone can see Christmas really matters Christmas really matters to me

Waiting for the sleigh bells…”

Then below that a bonus holiday laugh.

Zeppelin never did a Christmas song.

But what would it sound like if they did?

The tune kicks in at :43 then final line is the best part coming in at 3:27.

Merry Christmas, Rock style!!!

Only U2 Has Now Hit #1 Every Decade 80s-2010s

U2’s new album “Songs of Experience” is #1 this week on the Billboard Top 200 album chart.

This is the band’s 8th #1 album. In addition to their brand new album, previous Billboard #1 albums include: No Line on the Horizon (2009), How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb (2004), Pop (1997), Zooropa (1993), Achtung Baby (1991), the Rattle and Hum soundtrack (1988) and The Joshua Tree (1987).

This feat now makes U2 the only group with an album that’s hit #1 in every decade from the 80s to the 2010’s. That’s 4 decades, if you’re counting.

Meteor Shower Wednesday Night!

This is a good one – up to 120 shooting stars at its peak. The Geminids meteors last longer and are more vibrant than other showers throughout the year.

And the best part about the annual Geminids meteor shower is that you can start watching for them as early as 9pm.

For best viewing, the darker the sky, the better.

Look to the northeast to find the Gemini constellation. If you locate the famously bright 3 stars of the hunter’s belt of Orion, you’re not too far from Gemini. It’s just up and to the right. You want to look slightly away from that area for the biggest odds of seeing full meteors, tails and all…

Are The Eagles Hitting The Road With Jimmy Buffett?

Word has it that the current line up of The Eagles will take to the road with special guest Jimmy Buffett.

Being that word comes from Eagles’ manager Irving Azoff I’d say it seems legit.

Joe Walsh says to expect 40 to 50 dates out of The Eagles for 2018 but Azoff cautions the dates with Buffett will only be a “handful”.

Certainly both acts can command enough of a crowd to hit the road alone.

So if this is happening it seems like it has more to do with friendship.

Buffett was The Eagles opening act back in 1976.

In fact Jimmy credits the band with helping launch his career.

Plus Buffett was the man tapped to induct The Eagles into the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame.

See evidence of their friendship in the videos below.

One video is Jimmy covering The Eagles in concert last year and the other is Glenn Frey sitting in with Jimmy on “Margaritaville” live back in 1976.

WATCH: Rick Pulls Fan Onstage to Sing

One of Rick Springfield’s biggest fans had the thrill of a lifetime at Saturday’s night’s free, 98.9 WMMO Downtown Concert Series at Lake Eola in downtown Orlando.

Every good Rick fan knows that during song 3 or 4, he plays “I Get Excited” and pulls a fan onstage to sing it with him.

Tonia K was ready.

Tonia planted herself as close to the stage as she could, while holding a sing that read, “Rick…You + Me + IGE?” [For “I Get Excited”]

Rick gave the nod to the nearby security guard and Tonia was lifted onstage where Rick whispered, “You better know the words!” into her ear. Tonia responded with something to the effect of, “Duh!”

She then beamed from ear-to-ear with some pretty impressive moves. Even had the rock-star-back-bend goin’ on. Tonia said later it was one of the best nights of her life. Take a look for yourself…

WMMO has been presenting the free concerts for 27 years.

Hagar: No Van Halen Reunion. It’s Over.

Sammy Hagar pronounced repeatedly over the past year or two that a Van Halen reunion tour, with both he and David Lee Roth singing, is inevitable.

Photo by Jim Steinfeldt/Michael Ochs Archives/Getty Images

But now he’s singing a different tune. And it sounds to me that’s because his feeling are hurt. I get it. Here are some of the positive signs that led us all to believe a reunion would be forthcoming…

Hagar made it no secret he wanted to do a big reunion tour – with both he and David Lee Roth alternating as frontmen.

Hagar reached out to Eddie Van Halen via Twitter to wish him a happy birthday last year and Eddie tweeted back. (Mike Anthony actually told an interviewer that he suspected it was Eddie’s wife who Tweeted back to Hagar.)

Mike Anthony had a phone conversation with drummer Alex Van Halen after not speaking for 10 or 11  years.

And then, after all of those signs, Sammy’s 70th birthday came and went with no word from the Van Halen’s.

Now, Sammy told rock journalist Eddie Trunk, “I don’t know what’s wrong with those two brothers, man. All that says to me is that it’s over, man. Those guys do not want to be friends, and if they don’t wanna be friends, then we certainly ain’t gonna do a reunion.

An Appropriate Tom Petty Song For Halloween About Cassadaga Plus The Legend Of The Devil’s Chair

If you take the Tom Petty and The Heartbreaker’s single “Don’t Do Me Like That” you’ll find a B Side that wasn’t on the album.

That song is “Casa Dega”.

The song is written somewhat about nearby Cassadaga in Volusia County.

Cassadaga is a Spiritualist Camp originally settled in the 1800’s.

Petty said of the song and place “There are all kinds of psychics and fortune tellers. It’s this really small place. And I wrote that by putting myself in the mind of someone who went to Cassadaga. Though I spelled it wrong. … Poetic license, I guess.”

Cassadaga is also home to “The Devil’s Chair”, which involves legends of demonic conversations and beer drinking.

So watch a video below of Tom and the band performing “Casa Dega” and below that see a video about “The Devil’s Chair” in Cassadaga.

Oh, and Happy Halloween.
