Listen To Ronnie Van Zant’s Isolated Vocal On “Simple Man” On His Birthday

January 15th 2018 would have been Ronnie Van Zant’s 70th birthday.

Sadly we lost Ronnie back in 1977.

The music he made with Lynyrd Skynyrd lives on.

One of their most classic songs is “Simple Man”.

The song is a perfect example of great music combined with stirring lyrics.

Put that together with Ronnie’s haunting vocal and you’ll understand why the song endures.

Listen to the isolated vocal track below and I guarantee it will give you chills.

Lenny Kravitz Helps Design $38 Million Mansion

House’s Christmas Lights Synced to AC/DC’s Thunderstruck!

Some would say AC/DC’s “Thunderstruck” is not exactly a Christmas song. They obviously have not seen Chris Callahan’s house.

Too bad it’s too far for us to cruise right over and check out. Callahan lives in Menifee, California.

Callahan’s lights are synchronized to 12 different songs – the show lasts an hour. He said he chose “Thunderstruck” to pay tribute to AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young, who passes away in November after battling dementia and other health issues.

WATCH: Steve Miller Joins Billy Joel at MSG!

If you’ve seen Billy recently, you know that, at one point in the show, he gives the audience a choice of songs to choose from. The one receiving the most applause is the one he plays.

At last night’s show at Madison Square Garden, Steve Miller came out and gave the audience a choice between two of HIS songs – “Livin’ in the USA” or “The Joker”. He didn’t wait very long to analyze the applause before launching into “The Joker”. Lol.

Billy took a little break and joined in after the guitar solo. Watch below:

Billy Idol Helps Singer Win “The Voice”

Chloe Kohanski almost threw in the towel on her singing career, spending every weekend singing to 20 or 30 people in a bar didn’t seem to be getting her any closer to being noticed on a larger scale.

But now the world knows who she is – and Billy Idol had a hand in that last night, coaching the singer during the season finale.

Watch, below…

Unheard Zeppelin Coming…

Jimmy Page is working on a new Led Zeppelin collection in honor of the 50th anniversary next year.

Page said there will be “all manner of surprises coming out” – including previously unheard Led Zeppelin music.

Sure would be awesome if the unheard material is Led Zeppelin live in action. Page did not elaborate on whether that was the case or if the material was gleaned from studio outtakes or remasters.

If “Bohemian Rhapsody” Was A Christmas Song Plus A Bonus Zeppelin XMas Tune

You know when you hear a song that’s so hysterical that you just have to play it for all your friends?

Well that’s about to happen.

Imagine if Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” was a Christmas song.

Play the whole thing and I guarantee you’ll be laughing out loud.

Here are the lyrics to give you an idea:

“Is this the Yuletide? It’s such a mystery Will I be denied Or will there be gifts for me? Come down the stairs Look under the tree and see I’m such a bad boy I get no sympathy ‘Cause I’ve been raising Cain, raising hell Don’t behave very well Waiting for the sleigh bells Christmas really matters to me To me

Santa, been really bad Been writing on the wall Broke a window with my ball Santa, Christmas coming soon But now I’ve gone and thrown my toys away Santa, oooh I wanna see the reindeer fly If you’re not down my chimney by tomorrow Gonna cry, gonna cry ‘Cause Christmas really matters

Too late Yuletide has come Hanging stockings by the fire Singing carols with the choir Goodnight everybody, it’s time for bed Gotta listen for the reindeer on the roof Santa, oooh I just want a toy Sometimes wish I’d never been bad at all

I see a jolly silhouetto of a man Santa Claus, Santa Claus,  Will you come down my chimney? Donner and Blitzen, Cupid and Vixen, please! Pull the sleigh-o, pull the sleigh-o Pull the sleigh-o, pull the sleigh-o Santa, please don’t give him coal (give him coal…)

I’m such a bad boy, nobody loves me He’s such a bad boy, from a bad family Big chunks of coal should go under his tree

Raising Cain, raising hell, please don’t give me coal Kris Kringle! No! Do not give him coal!  (Give him coal…) Kris Kringle! Do not give him coal!  (Give him coal…) Kris Kringle! Do not give him coal! Do not give him coal! Do not give him coal! Never, never give me coal…

No, no, no, no, no, no, no!

C’mon Santa, c’mon Santa Santa please don’t give me coal St. Nicholas has a lump of anthracite for me For me For meeeeee

So you think you can snub me and give me no gifts So you think you can put me on your bad boy list Oh, Santa Can’t do this to me, Santa Just gotta be nice Just gotta be nice for next year

Christmas really matters Anyone can see Christmas really matters Christmas really matters to me

Waiting for the sleigh bells…”

Then below that a bonus holiday laugh.

Zeppelin never did a Christmas song.

But what would it sound like if they did?

The tune kicks in at :43 then final line is the best part coming in at 3:27.

Merry Christmas, Rock style!!!
