When Metallica were celebrating the 30th anniversary of their seminal Black album they dropped by the Howard Stern Show to play and hang. While they were there Howard surprised them with a phone call from Elton John. Elton wanted to cover their song Nothing Else Matters and ended up doing a version with Miley Cyrus for a charity record. Here’s Elton surprising the band live:
