I think I know what I’d do if I found myself in this situation...think...not totally convinced. But what would you do?
Police in North Texas say a 37-year-old man found a bag stuffed with $128,514 in cash sitting on top of a Bank of America ATM back in August. There was also a smaller bag containing 19 checks.
There was information on one of the bags indicating that it could belong to a Chick-fil-A. The guy took it to the nearby location, but a manager said it wasn’t theirs . . . so he called the police.
Investigators later determined that a Brinks technician had serviced the ATM . . . and was supposed to take the money, but accidentally left it by the machine.
Police said that every single dollar was there!! The man has asked to remain anonymous. The police chief said, “He just thought it’s the right thing to do, and he doesn’t think it goes beyond that.” Also, I’d have to guess he’d catch a lot of slack from those who DIDN’T think it was the right thing to do. The whole “finders keepers” theory!!
