Kevin Benkel | Honoree for August 27th, 2021

Kevin was nominated by his mother, Kim, who said, “Kevin is my 20 year old son who decided to become a fireman a couple of years ago, which made us extremely proud! He started his career March of 2020 right as the pandemic began and we were so worried. For being so young, Kevin has been so dedicated to his job and in making sure that he is helping those that need him. He has shown maturity, strength and compassion for others. He is also in paramedic school so he can further assist at the fire department with their medical calls. I couldn’t be a more proud mom knowing my son is making a difference and saving lives at the young age of 21! He loves his job and his fellow firefighters at Ocoee fire station 25, Thank you for your consideration of my nomination!” Kevin asked that we please also shout out his “crew here in Ocoee Fire Department, we are Station 25 C-shift. I work with the best crew! My Lieutenant Paramedic Colin McCormick, Engineer Paramedic Robert LaBrunda, Firefighter Paramedic Nick Gutschick, Firefighter Paramedic Matt Roy, Firefighter EMT Lily Kailen. These are my Brothers and Sister and love them all.”
