Mackenzie was nominated by her father in law, Bob Bretz, who said “Mackenzie has 2 degrees from University of Central Florida. She is a firefighter/paramedic for Orange City Fire Department. Simultaneously, Mackenzie was employed at Sea World as a firefighter/paramedic. While holding down two first responder jobs, she met our son and they recently married May 2021. Without hesitation, she took the role as a stepmom to our grandson. We are so happy to welcome her to our family. With a husband and stepson in her life, Mackenzie would have to scale her workload and departed from Sea World. But this was not a deterrent from her passion as a first responder. She has taken a part time position with Advent Health with hopes of a full time position and pursue a nursing career.”
