Matt was nominated by his friend, Cathy Foster, who said, “Deputy Matt Drennan of the Lake County Sheriff’s Office. Because he’s a good kid with a kind heart. When he’s not making the streets of Lake County safer (during non-COVID times) he volunteers as a member of the 501st Legion where he and other members dress as Star Wars characters to entertain children for different charities. Give Kids the World is one that I know of. He was given a shout out this last year on the Minneola Charter School’s website for performing the Heimlich maneuver on a staff member and saving their life. :-)”
