Michael was nominated by his friend, Austin McCormick, who said, “Michael Parker, or Mike as he is known in Volusia County has served in various departments, from Brevard County Fire as a volunteer as young man, Hernan Ambulance Company, which was the EMS service in Seminole County before the county took control, then Seminole County Fire Rescue while also volunteering with Volusia County Fire, then Deltona Fire Rescue, where he was engine company engineer, then assistant fire marshal. While he was with Deltona he was also one of Volusia Counties first Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) commanders and team members, which he left to join the fire marshals office. He now serves the cities of Orange City and Deland in the Fire Marshal’s office as an inspector and investigator, while also occasionally responding to fire and motor vehicles accidents. He selflessly dedicated over 45 years of outstanding service to residents of Central Florida. And married to Bobbi.” Mike is also currently the President of The Children’s Burn Foundation of Florida.
