Mick Jagger Helps Legendary Venue Celebrate 150 Years

Mick Jagger narrates short film about Royal Albert Hall’s 150th anniversary.

The Royal Albert Hall is a legendary venue known worldwide.

To celebrate it’s 150th anniversary they called on Mick Jagger to narrate a short film about the venue.

Like the rest of the world they have had to close their doors during the pandemic.

They have a message on their website though heading into this anniversary “Closing our doors has forced us to reflect; when we open them again to celebrate our 150th year, we want you to join us, to be there with us for the next generation defining moments and the once-in-a-lifetime live experiences. This year of celebrations will include major commissions from British artists, headline performances from musical legends, and a series of showcases promoting the next generation of talent.”

They describe the short film by saying “Watch legendary moments in music history, alongside appearances from artists, athletes and activists, in our 90-second tribute to live music and performance, narrated by Sir Mick Jagger.

Released to mark the beginning of the Royal Albert Hall’s 150th anniversary celebrations, the short film is directed by BAFTA-nominee Tom Harper (The Aeronauts, Wild Rose), and scored by Academy Award-winning composer Steven Price (Gravity, Fury).

We can’t wait to start creating memories with world class performers and you, our audiences, once more. We’ve got more history to make.”

You can clearly recognize Mick’s voice in the film as well as catch glimpses of Bob Dylan, Freddie Mercury, Diana Ross, Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin.

Plus there are shots of sporting events and concerts of so many artists other than rock.

Add it it beautiful shots of the interior and exterior as well as back stage that we may never get to see otherwise.

This short film makes me long for live music to return even more as well as fill me with a desire to travel once again, especially to the UK where I would love to catch an event at The Royal Albert Hall.

Watch this short film below and see what it may inspire in you.
