Vernon Brown | Honoree for February 19th, 2021

Vernon was nominated by his wife, Bridgett, who said, “I nominate my husband Vernon Brown, he has been in Law enforcement for 37 years, the last 27 years with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. He is a Sgt. in the K-9 unit, he is an FDLE certified K9 trainer and evaluator, and he recently lost his K9 partner Vader due to a medical illness. He serves the community through fostering children that come in to care for no fault of their own, he volunteers countless hours with the Lake Sumter Foster/Adopt Association, and has been a foster parent for 19 years now. He was foster parent of the year in 2016, and he has 8 children - 2 biological children, 6 adopted - and 4 grandchildren. He works many hours to provide for his family and those less fortunate. He is our everyday Hero!”

Vernon, thanks for all you do for the community. As a way of saying thanks, you will receive a BBQ Feast for 10 at Mission BBQ.
