Which is why I excitedly posted a story about yesterday’s historic stock market gain, which seemed to wipe out previous plunges.
Nope.
It’s been a December of wild swings on Wall Street. Just in the last few days, a giant plunge followed by the biggest point gain in history, which would have wiped out the losses - if not for the next day and another giant plunge.
So if you have resisted the urge to check on your 401k balance, perhaps it’s best to keep resisting, until things settle down.
