There Are Some Really Weird Art Pieces At The Ringling Museum Part 2

I am in no way an art expert. I like art, its cool and interesting to look at. But I also know when I see something that’s just weird. And that’s usually what I look at even longer, because I like weird. And some of these are weird to be sure.

I recently took a day trip to Sarasota to check out the Ringling Museum from the man who brought the world the circus. So of course there are circus art pieces which are weird all on their own. But the main museum with hundreds of pieces of art and sculpture and relics dating back sometimes to 2000 BCE, has a lot to look at. And I found all the weird ones which you can see in this blog. I also found many of the naked ones which you can see in this blog. And of course the circus oddities which I posted here.

For this round of art weirdness we start with what looks like a normal painting at first.

I think its Madonna and Baby Jesus but I’m not sure. What I do know is that homie on the right is having some wardrobe malfunctions with his boot all falling down, and apparently he is also grabbing his crotch for some reason. But that’s not all. Look at the bro on the left. Why does he have arrows sticking out of him? Don’t bring people shot with arrows around babies, that’s not appropriate. I mean even the baby in the painting is like “what’s going on with you dude, you just gonna bleed all over the place or what?”

Next in our weird art adventure is a guy who, again at first glimpse looks normal. But his head is way too small for his body! Or his body is WAY bigger than his head. Why? Is this one of those paintings of the old royals that were all inbred and this is a medieval art slam? Who knows. The painter maybe, but I sure don’t.

There is also an entire Kabuki exhibit along with much of the Asian art displayed at the museum. Like this guy, who’s so sauced he can’t see straight.
