Fleetwood Mac just responded to ex-bandmate Lindsey Buckingham’s lawsuit.
They told him to Bring. It.
Not in those exact words.
In THESE exact words: “Fleetwood Mac looks forward to their day in court.”
That statement came from band spokesperson Kristen Foster.
The sequence of events:
-Last April, Fleetwood Mac fired Lindsey Buckingham and announces they will replace him with Mike Campbell of Tom Petty’s Heartbreakers and Neil Finn of Crowded House
-About 3 weeks later, Fleetwood Mac releases tour dates
-About 4 months later (August), Lindsey Buckingham announces solo tour dates
-Last week, Lindsey spills the details of his firing and feelings and pens an emotional email
-Days later (October 11), Lindsey sues Fleetwood Mac for: breach of fiduciary duty, breach of oral contract and intentional interference with prospective economic advantage.
-Days after that (October 15), Fleetwood Mac disputes lawsuit saying they look forward to their day in court.
I’m sure it’s no surprise to hear that Def Leppard and Stevie Nicks are leading the fan vote for induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Class of 2019.
If you want to help secure their spots, you can cast your vote HERE.
Ask George Thorogood to describe his live shows and his guitar playing and he may answer with adjectives like Dirty and Bad.
You may think those words have negative connotations.
But they don’t the way George means them.
Recently George and I discussed his shows coming to The Sharon Performing Arts Center and to Coachman Park in Clearwater.
We also talked guitars, slides and seriously got into talking about the blues.
Give a listen to the interview below.
8 months after being fired from the band he helped skyrocket to success, Lindsey Buckingham has filed suit against them.
According to US Weekly, the lawsuit accuses Fleetwood Mac of breach of fiduciary duty, breach of oral contract and intentional interference with prospective economic advantage.
If you remember, Buckingham had asked the band to postpone its tour for 3 months while he toured with his solo band. Shortly thereafter, the hammer dropped.
The band announced they would be parting ways with Buckingham and invited Mike Campbell, guitarist for Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Neil Finn, guitarist/vocalist of Crowded House into the band.
Here’s what Buckingham told Rolling Stone in a just-released interview, about his firing:
While he watched the Grammy’s, two days after performing with Fleetwood Mac at the Grammy’s MusiCares event, their manager, Irving Azoff called and told him, “Stevie never wants to be onstage with you again.”
Lindsey shared some of the items that “Stevie took issue with” with the magazine.
When you start listing all the hits that 38 Special have, you realize it’s quite a collection.
I recently spoke with singer and founding member Don Barnes.
Don also told me the stories behind some of 38 Special’s biggest hits.
We also had the chance to talk about the band being all over MTV in the early days and Don’s lost solo record.

This calls for a neighborhood watch party…
The #10 UCF Knights football team is on the road against the Memphis Tigers this weekend, going for their 19th consecutive win.
Gametime is 3:30pm on WFTV Channel 9.
I don’t think I can say it enough… I am SO excited about this movie!
And just when my excitement levels off to high anticipation, they release something new… a new tease, a new trailer. This time it’s an interview with Rami Malek who plays Freddie Mercury in the film about becoming Freddie and there are lots of clips from the movie and filming in there too.
So how did he go about taking on such a huge iconic figure in history? He had a lot of help and he worked at it constantly!
Check out the interview below and don’t forget, the film hits theaters Friday, November 2nd.
The newly-revamped lineup of Fleetwood Mac kicked off their tour in Tulsa last night – one day after the one-year anniversary of the death of Tom Petty. This is significant because Stevie Nicks is considered to be an honorary member of Tom’s band, The Heartbreakers, and because Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell made his debut last night as a member of Fleetwood Mac.
[Lots of videos below…]
Campbell, and Crowded House guitarist Neil Finn, are both replacing longtime Fleetwood Mac guitarist/songwriter Lindsey Buckingham, whose solo tour coincides with that of his former band.
The night kicked off, as it usually does, with The Chain.
There were also a couple of early Fleetwood Mac tunes, one that the band hasn’t performed in about 30 years. That was “Black Magic Woman” written by Fleetwood Mac founding member Peter Green.
There were 2 Crowded House tunes and Neil Finn also took lead vocals on Fleetwood Mac’s “Hypnotised”.
Stevie Nicks provided vocals as Mike Campbell led a tribute to his former bandleader, Tom Petty, on “Free Fallin'” – the lone Petty tune performed. The band did not perform “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” which is interesting, considering that Mike Campbell co-wrote it with Tom and Stevie dueted on it.
Fleetwood Mac plays the Amalie Arena February 18th. Ticket info.
Lindsey Buckingham plays the King Center October 28th. Ticket info.

It’s not yet been a year since our beloved rocker’s passing and his grieving family is already talking about two more releases in the coming months. One, a live set and the other, a package of re-mixed tunes from the Wildflowers sessions that Tom spoke so much about releasing, just prior to his death.
The forthcoming “American Treasure” set was put together by Dana, Tom’s daughter, Adria, Tom’s Heartbreaker bandmates, Benmont Tench and Mike Campbell and producer Ryan Ulyate.
Dana told Billboard , “It was not an easy process for any of us. It was very emotional, and, especially at first, hearing the songs was brutal. But music is healing. It got easier. It felt like Tommy would be so proud of this.”

Joan has contributed a new song “Fresh Start” to the film. Check it out below.

Florence is no joke, especially for our friends and family in the Carolina’s.
However Weather Reporters have been accused of over dramatizing storms in the past.
And it seems it may be happening for Florence as well.
Watch this Weatherman fighting winds while reporting live.
In the back you may notice a couple bystanders who wander on screen and stroll by easily.
This camera is mounted upon the Frying Pan Lighthouse, 34 miles off Cape Fear, North Carolina.
It’s been about 2 years since sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart had a falling out. And it was bad.
They stopped talking completely and they’re still not sure if they can’t work past that event to regroup. But they’re going to talk about it and that’s exciting news for Heart fans.
It was during a tour in their hometown of Seattle in 2016 when Nancy’s teenage twin sons reported being struck by Ann’s husband, Dean Welter. The three were backstage while Ann & Nancy were performing onstage.
Charges were filed and Welter pled guilty to a lesser count to avoid jail time.
In a new interview with Jim Kerr, Ann said the two have to talk before they can decide whether or not Heart will tour again.
“I will never agree to going back out there in a mechanical, money-grab-type way; at this point in my life, I’m not gonna do that — I’m gonna make every minute count and make it real. So we’ll talk and we’ll figure out if we can figure out a fresh, new, cool way.”
Ann new album is a tribute to musicians recently departed. It’s called “Immortal” and features covers from Tom Petty, David Bowie and more. Win a copy here!
Ever wondered what “Walk This Way” would sound like on xylophones, wood blocks, maracas…. well, wonder no more!
Aerosmith joined Jimmy Fallon and the Roots on The Tonight Show last night to perform “Walk This Way” on classroom instruments.
Steven Tyler was rocking a harmonica and apple shakers while Joe Perry was on a ukulele, Joey Kramer was on a toy drum, Tom Hamilton had a tambourine, and Brad Whitford had a maraca.
Jimmy Fallon and the Roots also had classroom instruments, of course, and you know Jimmy had to jump in on some vocals too!
They all looked like they were having so much fun with this version! Check it out…
