Chris Robinson Talks The Brotherhood And Responds To His Brother’s Recent Comments

Eight years ago, after the demise of The Black Crowes, brother Chris Robinson began a journey with his new project The Chris Robinson Brotherhood.

The band has been out on the road touring behind their release “Barefoot In The Head” and just finished up work on a new release as well.

Chris took some time on his day off to me to speak about the band, their music and what to expect from the in the future.

A couple weeks back I also had the chance to speak to Rich Robinson.

He had some strong comments about brother Chris.

You can listen to that interview here.

I also gave Chris the opportunity to personally respond to those comments.

You can listen to everything he had to say below.

So close! The stars were aligning but…not gonna happen this time.

The New York Mets are out of the playoff race and our Florida boy, Tim Tebow, has been improving enough that there was talk he’d be called up to the Majors in September.

Then, over the weekend, he broke his hand. He’ll have surgery tomorrow and it’s expected he’ll be out for the remainder of the season.

Wishing you a full and speedy recovery, Tim.

Billy F Gibbons of ZZ Top fame is releasing his second solo album “The Big Bad Blues” on September 21st.

The last album had much more of a Cuban feel than long time fans expected.

Gibbons says in a press release “The shift back to the blues is a natural. It’s something which our followers can enjoy with the satisfaction of experiencing the roots tradition and, at the same time, feeling the richness of stretching the art form.”

The first track off the album “Rollin’ And Tumblin’” was released earlier this week.

It definitely has a sound you would associate with Billy F Gibbons.

Submit Your Tom Petty Pics/Photos For New Video

Tom Petty’s widow and daughter, Dana York and Adria Petty, have come up with a beautiful idea.

Even through tremendous grief, Dana and Adria seem to know exactly how much Tom means to all of us and how truly heartbroken we were after losing him so suddenly last year. Every Petty fan I’ve spoken to said the same thing, “It feels like I lost a friend.”

The two ladies have set up a site to collect photos and videos submitted by fans. They’ll select some to be used in a new video for Tom Petty: An American Treasure, the new, career-spanning box set.

Here’s the note that greets you when you visit the site to submit your momentos:

Dear Tom Petty Fans We are making a very special music video in honor of Tom Petty and his profound 40 year relationship with his fans and we would love for you to help us. We invite you to share your favorite moment with Tom and the band. A picture you took with Tom, a favorite video moment from a show, or any expression of love for the band that you have photographed and cherished. Thanks!

The film will cover the band’s whole career… their start in Jacksonville, the tragic plane crash that killed 6 people, their comeback in the 80’s to today.

The film debuted at the South by Southwest Festival this year and Rossington said, “I won’t be shy to say I cried a few times. You can’t not, if you were part of it, you know?”

Billy Joel celebrates 100th show at MSG with some help from The Boss

Wednesday night marked Billy Joel’s 100th show at NYC’s Madison Square Garden and his 54th consecutive since he started his residency, both are records for MSG.

To honor the occasion, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo declared July 18th as Billy Joel Day in the state.

Since it was definitely a night for celebrating, Billy Joel got some help from The Boss at the show.

Before Billy Joel even finished introducing him the crowd was calling out “Bruuuuuuuce.”

Joel said they “go back a long way. We were both on the same record label and got dumped by the same label.” (Bet that record label feels pretty dumb now!)

The two started out with Springsteen’s “Tenth Avenue Freeze Out” and then went on to “Born to Run.”

Bruce Springsteen is currently doing his own run of shows in NYC, Springsteen On Broadway.

You can watch both songs below and read more about it HERE.

Springsteen On Broadway Comes To Your Living Room On Netflix

A tweet from Bruce Springsteen’s twitter account announced that his Tony Award winning Broadway show is coming to Netflix in December.

“Springsteen on Broadway” will launch globally on @Netflix on December 15, 2018, which is also the final night of Springsteen’s completely sold out 236-show run at Jujamcyn’s Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway. Read more at — Bruce Springsteen (@springsteen) July 18, 2018

This is certainly good news if you couldn’t get a ticket to the shows.

Netflix will debut “Springsteen On Broadway” December 15th which is also the last night of the shows run.

Springsteen’s solo acoustic show kicked off in October 2017 and has been extended three times past it’s initial eight week run.

Based on his autobiography, “Born to Run,” Springsteen’s one-man event does feature a special appearance by his wife, Patti Scialfa.

I saw the show back in January.

It was like hanging with Bruce in his living room listening to him tell some amazing stories from his life.

Get a glimpse of the show through his Tony Award performance below.

Def Leppard’s New Beer Coming to Rock & Brews

Def Leppard teamed up with Elysian Brewing Company to create a new beer that hit the market back in May.

It’s only fitting that the first restaurant to feature the beer is Rock & Brews, the chain co-founded by Kiss members Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley.

As Joe Elliot put it, “Rock & Brews celebrates everything that is rock and roll and is the perfect place for fans to indulge themselves with a cold Def Leppard Pale.”

To celebrate this rockin’ partnership, they’ve got some cool promotions coming too like winning a trip out to LA to see the final show of the Def Leppard and Journey tour in October.

If you want to check out Def Leppard Pale, there are two Rock & Brews locations in the Orlando area… in Oviedo at 7131 Red Bug Lake Rd and in Orlando in the Lee Vista Promenade at 6897 S Semoran Blvd.

Guns N’ Roses Rules YouTube

The biggest musical act on YouTube for the ’80s and ’90s is Guns N’ Roses.

The music video for “November Rain” has now passed one billion views. That’s billion, with a B! That’s not too surprising I suppose, it is epic.

So how did it get that many views?? In 2017, the video averaged 560,000 views per day! Plus they’ve been on a massive world-wide tour the past few years so a lot of people have been checking out their videos again… or for the first time even.

“November Rain” is the first music video from the ’90s to hit that one billion views milestone and the first video created before YouTube to hit one billion views too.

Guns N’ Roses also has the biggest video from the ’80s for “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” coming in at 700,000 views.

Now you want to go watch them, don’t you? Yeah, me too. Let’s do that…

Check out more info HERE.

Mick Jagger is Jinxing World Cup Matches

Poor Mick Jagger, England fans aren’t too happy with him right now. Apparently he’s a jinx when it comes to the World Cup.

Mick Jagger was at the semi-final match Wednesday between England and Croatia, obviously cheering on England.

Even before kickoff, fans were talking about superstitions and his attendance.

Well England lost. And everyone turned on poor Mick.

These superstitions surrounding Mick Jagger go back to 2010… every time he goes to a game, the team he supports loses.

In 2010, he attended the U.S. and Ghana match, cheering on the U.S. and the U.S. lost 2-1.

In 2014, he attended the Brazil and Germany match, cheering on the host country of Brazil and they lost to Germany 7-1.

And that brings us to 2018, and we see what happened Wednesday.

Not surprising, Croatia and France (who meet up Sunday in the World Cup final) are asking Mick Jagger to please not cheer them on.

Happy Friday the 13th, Mick.

New Details on Queen Biopic Movie

So how do you portray one of the greatest frontmen of all time… not just Freddie Mercury’s look and his mannerisms, but his voice too?

First off, they had to find the right actor. When Denis O’Sullican, co-producer of Bohemian Rhapsody, found Rami Malik, they said that was it. There was never a second look, no doubt about it.

Malik, meanwhile, thought someone was playing a joke on him when he first got the offer. But then when it sank in, “I felt massive excitement … followed by the extreme, daunting weight of the thing.”

He had to learn the movements, Mercury’s dialect, had to learn to speak will prosthetic teeth that gave him Freddie Mercury’s overbite.

Then there’s that voice. How on earth can you recreate Freddie Mercury’s sound?

Malik couldn’t straight up replicate Mercury’s singing voice so they took recordings from Queen master tapes and added additional recordings from Canadian singer Marc Martel.

So much to look forward to in this biopic! It’ll hit theaters November 2nd! For more details, go HERE.
