SpaceX tries for a third time to launch it’s Starship moon rocket in Boca Chica, Texas.

Boca Chica, TX — 10 a.m. Update:

SpaceX labels it’s launch of the latest prototype of its Starship moon rocket a success.

The test flight went up at 9:25 a.m. Eastern.

The flight took off on a Super Heavy rocket booster from the Starbase launch site near Boca Chica, Texas.

There was confirmed success of the booster separation, but the booster was lost in the process of it returning to Earth.

The starship is expected to splashdown in the Indian Ocean.

SpaceX will try a third time to launch it’s Starship moon rocket.

The FAA issued a license for the space company on Wednesday for the test flight.

The Super Heavy rocket booster is set to blast off from the Starbase launch pad in Boca Chica, Texas at 9:25 a.m. Eastern.

The first two launches, which happened in 2023, the Starship blew up shortly after takeoff.

Elon Musk and SpaceX hope third times a charm for the mission and that the test flight will end with a splashdown in the Indian Ocean.
