New John Bonham Bio Will Feature A Foreword By Dave Grohl

The book will hit stores in September.

Possibly the world’s most influential drummer, John Bonham, will have a biography coming out in September that chronicles his life, and all too short career. “Beast: John Bonham and the Rise of Led Zeppelin” is a 384 page bio written by music journalist C.M. Kushins and is the first ever bio of Bonham. Its slated to hit stores September 7th and will feature a foreword by none other than Dave Grohl, another extremely influential drummer and all around awesome musician with both Nirvana AND the Foo Fighters.

The book chronicles Bonham’s start as a young drummer who started at age 5, and with no formal training ended up joining Jimmy Page for a tour with The New Yardbirds, which would eventually morph into the biggest band in the world at the time, Led Zeppelin.

If you’re not intimately familiar with Bonzo’s impeccable beat skills, then you probably haven’t spent any time with one of the greatest drum solos of all time, “Bonzo’s Montreaux”. Indulge yourself for 4 minutes and experience this groove.

Or hear him in full action in the 10 minute Zep epic “Moby Dick”
