During Adam West’s later years he spent much of his time at his home in Ketchum, Idaho, a small tourist ski town. Since Ketchum was such a small tourist town, many visitors would hear that the Batman star lived there and try to look him up in the phone book...back when people used phone books that is. And as recently as 2014 yes, Adam West was listed in the local Names & Numbers (remember those?) phone books. But being the comedian that he is, and yes he’s a very funny guy in real life, he played an ongoing prank on the town, and also the many annual visitors to his adopted home town.
If you were to visit Ketchum and look up Adam West in the phone book, he is listed. Where his number would normally be is the cross reference “See Bruce Wayne (Millionaire)”. Then when you look up that number you get the listing “consult Crime Fighters in the Yellow Pages”. When you go there you see “see BATMAN-White Pages”. And, in case you haven’t figured it out yet, that listing circles you back too...”see West Adam”.
