Everyone in central Florida spends PLENTY of time on the roads in traffic, and I’d guess you probably have some opinions about drivers, based solely on WHAT they’re driving. (And not just the obvious stuff, like Cybertrucks.)
A new report analyzed actual data from insurance companies and accident reports to come up with a definitive list of the best and worst drivers by vehicle brand . . . and here are the results:
1. BMW, Ram, and Tesla have the worst drivers. Across the country, BMW drivers had nearly 45 incidents per 1,000 drivers throughout the past year. That includes accidents, DUIs, speeding, and citations.
Tesla is third-worst, after being the worst overall a year ago. Ram was also second a year ago.
2. On the flip-side, Chrysler, Cadillac, and Mercury have the BEST drivers. Chrysler drivers had 26 incidents per 1,000 drivers nationally . . . the lowest rate among the major brands.
Mercury is third, after being the overall best the previous two years.
3. Ram, Subaru, and Tesla drivers also had the HIGHEST accident rates . . . while Mercury, Chrysler, and Pontiac had the lowest.
4. BMW drivers have the highest DUI rates . . . BY FAR . . . followed by Ram and Buick. Chrysler, Volvo, and Lexus drivers had the lowest DUI rates.
5. Infiniti is the brand with the highest speeding rates, followed by Volkswagen and Mercury. Lexus, Cadillac, and Chrysler drivers had the lowest.
Overall, they considered 30 car makes, including all the major brands like: Honda, Toyota, Jeep, Kia, Nissan, Ford, Chevrolet, Land Rover, and Dodge.
My biggest take away...who knew Mercury still was a brand! Ya learn something new everyday I guess!!
