You may or may not think that dressing up for Halloween as an adult is appropriate...but if you’re going to do it, at least put a little effort into and don’t be BORING!
A company dug into Google Trends data from the past 12 months to determine the most popular Halloween costumes in every state . . . and they really stuck to the boring, classic stuff. Here’s a rundown:
Mermaid is the most popular. It’s #1 in seven states: Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Florida, Louisiana, and Hawaii.
Dinosaur is #1 in six, including: Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, and Nebraska.
Bat is also #1 in six, including: Alaska, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington.
“Monster” is #1 in four: Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, and West Virginia. (Not even a specific monster???)
Skeleton is #1 in three: Illinois, Maine, and Rhode Island.
Princess is also #1 in three: California, Tennessee, and Texas.
Angel also has three states: Maryland, Nevada, and Wyoming.
And Alien is also #1 in three: Missouri, North Carolina, and New Mexico.
This “study” was only looking out for the boring old classics, so the other top costumes are things like: Pumpkin, vampire, superhero, witch, doctor, fairy, and police officer.
But Oklahoma didn’t get the message. The #1 Halloween costume there is: CANDY CORN. Really??? WHY...JUST WHY!?!?!
