Jared was nominated by his aunt, Debbie, who said, “I am nominating my nephew, Jared Tompkins, Orange County Sheriff Deputy. As a new deputy he took the extra effort to get his EMT license so that he could help more people. As a very young deputy he was at the shooting at the Pulse Nightclub. In his young career, he has saved many lives and helped many people. I’m proud that he’s my nephew out there. I’m proud that he graduated from Valencia‘s school of public safety and UCF, criminal justice. I nominated him also because he used to work at Gatorland; it was his first job! Holding alligators for the tourist to pet! I’m proud of him! Thank you for acknowledging our first responders!”.
