Today in 1992, Sinead O’Connor goes on Saturday Night Live. She does an acapella performance of Bob Marley’s “War”, says “Fight the Real Enemy”, holds up a picture of the Pope and rips it in half. She said her reasoning behind this was the Catholic Church was covering up child abuse. Turns out years later, they find out she was correct.

Today in 1980, the police released their album, “Zenyatta Mondatta.” Yes, an odd title for his album, but also an odd title for the hit single, “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da.”

Today in 1978, Aerosmith playing in Fort Wayne, Indiana. There’s a lot of people in the audience smoking pot who then get arrested. Steven Tyler says from the stage that anybody who’s arrested there, he will bail out. The band does just that. But memories of the night are kind of hazy And the people who the band bailed out was anywhere from 28 to 58.

Today in 1969, The Beatles released “Abbey Road” here in the United States.
