Watch Some Tripped Out Colorized Video Of Early Pink Floyd With Syd On American BandStand

Knowing the Pink Floyd we know now, I would never have thought they’d done a spot on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand, but they did. I know the 60′s were a strange and different time but Dick Clark always seemed like he’d rather not have the drugged out hippie bands making psychedelic music on his show. Of course, at the time its possible ole’ Dick had no idea about Pink Floyd since even most pop bands back then were singing about and doing drugs, they were just so subtle about it that the squares weren’t to hip to what was going down.

Anyway this was originally filmed in black and white, and someone with time and technology on their hands decided to colorize it for us, which makes it even trippier than it must have been originally. Especially since Syd was probably a few tabs to the wind on the show, as he almost always was. And if you look close enough it really seems like everyone in the band is telling themselves to “hold it together for just a couple more minutes, and wait, what was the next line...?” They’re probably grateful they only had to lip sync and not really play anything live.

Anyway watch the video, and see if you don’t catch a few tracers off it too...
