Now that you know how the halftime show got as big as it is, let’s see who your favorite halftime performances were.
And your 5th favorite is...a tie! You voted for both U2′s halftime show from 2002, and Bruce Springsteen’s show from 2009.
Here’s part of the U2 performance, dedicated to those who lost their lives on September 11th, 2001 which had obviously happened only a few months earlier, and the world was still on edge about it too.
U2 performed 3 songs that night, starting with “Beautiful Day”, then “MLK” and finally, with a list of names of those we lost, they finished with “Where The Streets Have No Name”
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band played in 2009. According to the official NFL YouTube video of the performance, they had tried to get Bruce for the show many times, but only after The Who played in 2008, did Bruce reach out to the NFL to say he wanted to play. When he did the band played “Tenth Avenue Freeze Out”, “Born To Run”, a new song titled “Working On A Dream” and finished with “Glory Days”.
Tune in tomorrow night at 9 to see who your 4th favorite performance was.
